Since i'm so bored figuring out all the financials for my business plan, i've decided to take a break and write my blogs again. As of now i'm stuck on the valuation of the venture, regretting not taking a commerce program in the first place. Might end up working overnight again -_-''. Maybe i will just make up a bunch of assumptions and go from there, hopefully my prof won't care so much. Oh well, back to work.

两月没touch blog le...有点对不起msn 给的space.

 

最近这两天突然发现时间不够用， 又要上summer school, 又要volunteer， 又要管和朋友一起做的club... 忙啊。 summer school 的书已经lack behind 好几节课了， assignment touch 都没touch 的都有四五个。 school 才开始不到三周啊。。。老师就不能给少点书读， 少点题做啊？

昨天读了一篇interview of Stephen A. Jarislowsky (Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, former President of Jarislowsky, Fraser & Company Limited, which has a corporate asset of $55-billion.) 其中他说了这么一句话， 激起了我的感慨：“In Canada, we have aimed far too long for mediocrity rather than toward excellence." 

 

这句也是放在我心里很久了的话， 因为加拿大人才很多， 但政府却懦弱无能， 完全没有欲望去发展科技与 经济。 年年的不断increase social spending rather than scientific research, 而科技研究也受到比其他国家更多的阻力。 像stem cell research, 竟然先要用around 5 年去成立一个ethic commitee and establish the appropriate law. 我明白regulation is important, 但是5 年啊，这将使加拿大远远落后于美国与英国。而且degree of regulation in Canada is also much tougher， 什么都不让干， 怎么搞科研？

 

政府对经济力量的重视也不够， 根本就不care 与美国之间的GDP 与productivity gap. 没有increasing productivity, 一个国家的经济就很难增长。 孙子兵法上说， 上者伐谋，其次伐交。 兵法上又说， 伐谋与伐交的前提， 是这个国家要有足够的military strength. 虽然古代与现代的国与国的关系有着重大的区别， 但道理是一样的。 古代以军事力量为第一， 而现代， 就是要以economical power 来说话， 要以technological power 来说话。 一个国家， 只有当经济与科技的力量成熟了， 才有资格去运用谋略与外交扩充自己， 强大自己。 没有说话权， 在将来如何去充当加拿大人引以自豪的“peacekeeper" 的role?

 

我没有说加拿大要变得和美国一样， 我个人也很讨厌美国。 但一个国家是要成长的， 是要变得更强大。 在商场上， 一个公司不发展， 就会被吞并， 同样， 一个国家没有发展， 在国际社会上的influence 也会越来越小。唉，看来以后干事还是要回中国， invest in 一个没有前途的国家，满郁闷的。

 

本来想就写几句的， 结果胡扯了这么多。 要去写assignment le， 不然星期二交不了作业了。。。

 

 

 

这两天internet 一到晚上就一会on 一会off,called Rogers, says it's router's problem. After bought a new router, still experience the same problem. 靠!

今天上genetics lecture, 坐在第一排，竟然听着听着就睡着了。。。 唉， 昨天没睡好 + 在subway and chem lab 里站了5 个小时的后果。 不知 Prof 看着进入梦乡的我， 有何感受。。。
